MUSICFrom a mutual fascination David Poltrock (Poltrock) and Adriaan de Roover (Oaktree) enter the studio in 2018 to let coincidence take its course. Two years and a dozen studio sessions later, there is VACUUM. An album of intensely sultry instrumental ambient. The predilection for organic sounds and dark electronics in an intriguing soundtrack.

The essence is: Space. Emptiness. The creation of a Vacuum, a space of emptiness. This music creates a vacuum in which all sense of space and focus is lost. The sounds move from the most intimate, claustrophobic textures to almost monumental and unapproachable walls of sound.

SPACEThrough spatialisation of sound in a total space, the audience is disoriented and subjected to a 360° experience. In collaboration with a sound engineer, Poltrock and de Roover developed a sound choreography that allows the spectator to spend an hour in a constantly evolving field of tension.

VISUALITYDance, video and light add a visual and physical element to the experience. Images by the hand of videographer Wim Piqueur are set off by light. Structures and textures are projected and elements from reality are decontextualised. These interdisciplinary impulses do encourage the public to let their imagination run free. The moving body moves on a landscape of light and video. The dancer is everywhere and nowhere, and just like the music, he comes disconcertingly close. Director Aïda Gabriëls has the dancer Pieter Desmet perform a physical battle game that that brings out brutal imperfection, primal instinctive manoeuvres and human fragility.
